Hi,
This is the first time I have ever done this..Ron Johnson has turned me on to blogging.
I want to wish every one a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We are ending our year with health problems for my husband, Tom, and don't know what the New Year will bring for us. We are hopeful that all will be well and that we get through these hard times.
Please say a prayer for him and keep us in your thoughts
I look forward to seeing everyone at our next reunion. In the meantime, stay healthy and enjoy this JOYOUS SEASON.

The Zang Family Holiday Newsletter 2007
Hi!
Christmas is our favorite time of the year. We hope you are having a wonderful holiday season. Sometimes it is easy to lose sight of what is truly important in life. It is this time of the year when Jane and I rediscover how fortunate we are to have a close family, great relatives, and wonderful friends. Gone, it seems, are the days of traditional Christmas Cards. However, here is a brief snapshot of The Zang Family in this moment of time.
After almost 2 years, Neka gave her last performance in Wicked. She is now in London for a few months, working with choreographer and artistic director, Brian Friedman (So You Think You Can Dance, Brittney Spears, etc.). Neka will miss the friends and cast members of Wicked, but she is looking forward to advancing her career. Plus, her new boyfriend, Jan, lives in London. We're not sure Neka will miss Chicago, having been spoiled by Manhattan. She will be moving to Los Angeles in the Spring of 2008. For the first time ever, Neka will not be with the family this Christmas. We will all miss her.
Mari is in her final year of law school at McGeorge in Sacramento. She enjoyed her additional studies abroad, and worked for the EPA this past summer. Mari also completed her Intern Program with the Department of Homeland Security, and most recently received another Internship with the District Attorneys Office in Sacramento . She will work in her chosen field, environmental law, and not criminal law, as is usually associated with the D.A.s office. Mari is an avid snow boarder, a true 'powder hound." She jogs and plays tennis to stay in shape. We are happy to say she will be home for the Christmas Holiday.
Jane is nursing and Evan is consulting. Duh! No changes, thank God. Mr. Honey, our 2-year old adopted Tuxedo kitty, is definitely a lot of fun for Evan who now thinks he is a professional cat trainer!
Whenever possible, Jane joins Evan on business trips. We've had some nice"vacations" in Orlando , New York , and so on. Heres a picture of us, freezing to death in January, posing in front of the opulent Plaza Hotel New York.
Sadly, this wonderful historic property is being renovated into ultra-expensive condominiums. With Neka in London , it could mean a trip abroad for the entire Zang clan in mid-spring. For the first time in 13 years, we will not be in New York for Christmas. But we're not complaining. We send our prayers for Peace, Health, and Hope to all for 2008.
With All Our Love, Evan, Jane, Mari, and Neka!

Hi ya'll
Happiest of Holidays to each and every one of you.
It's Bob Hansen, just a fishin' and a chasin' my four grandkids around the foothills. Workin' alittle, and thinking of cutting back even more. Two 1/2 days a week is a grind. : )
Couldn't help but put in my two cents worth and wish you all the best too!
I recently played poke4r with a bunch of my volleyball buddies and guess who is sitting across the table but Dan Payette (one year our junior). But what a pleasure it was to hear his voice and share some old memories.
I sure wish you all the best for the New Year and will try not to miss the next get-together.

I confess
I'm relatively sure the statute of limitations has run out so I will make the following confession. On spirit day 1964 the "Ye Old Woodshop" sign and plastic hammer were stolen. It was me, Tim Gerner, and Tom Parker (1965). Sheila Stavish called us "Vandals" at the time, but I prefer to think of us as just "good ole boys" having a good time.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
To all my classmates,
This has been a great year, and I am escaping to Switzerland on the 26th to visit friends and my sister Judy who still lives there. For those of you that don't know the story, I was kidnapped by my parents in my senior year to depart for a "better life" in Madrid, Spain. That lasted all of six months and finally we settled in Luzern, Switzerand which I still consider my second home. Living in Southern Cali (since 89) is of course no reality to the rest of the world, be it politics or weather! When you can surf the big ones one week, and ski down on slopes the next...that is paradise for most or unreal! Me, I love to travel and get very restless but stay in San Diego where my three girls live with boyfriend, husband and fiance'. Next year we will have two weddings, a nr. 3 grandchild, and my daughter Carla graduates from Med. school. Life is good!
I wish all of you a wonderful time during this season, and may 2008 bring you and all a peaceful, loving but exciting year! Once again thank you to Marian for being the glue to this group!
Love to all of you,
Sandy Schuermann-Zimmerman

Happy Festivus everyone
I know just enough to be dangerous here so I'll keep it short.
I occasionally see my life long buddies Jim Fisher, Terry Tarrach and Bob Steele. Jim actually decided to do what I have been doing for the last year......working from our home. I highly recommend it. No more calls at midnight.....some unplanned trips but then again I can give myself a day off whenever I want.....been doing that alot with trips to Southern Mexico where I have been mixing business with pleasure. It's a nice way to ease into retirement.

The fatuation with reminiscing!
While I write a lot, I have never "blogged" so this is a new one on me.
2007 holiday greetings from the beautiful inland Northwest, Spokane, Washington. Snow comes and goes this year with much more regularity in the absence of its arch-enemy, El Nino.
I wish you folks in the land of 30 million people, strength and clarity as you sort through the growing pains of a micro-country.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!
To all fellow Westmoorites! May your holidays be festive and the New Year be prosperous. Please check in and add your comments, ideas and what's on your mind.
Christmas Greetings from Marian
Just wanted to stop by and say Merry Christmas. We're blanketed in snow here in Utah so we'll have a White Christmas for sure. It's been awhile since I've written. I'm trying this new blog format to see if it might work well for all of us. I'm hoping you will all send in your Christmas Greetings and family news so that I can add them to this Blog. I've set this blog up so that it will not be spidered into search engines.
Our reunion committee has been hard at work telephoning those classmates that don't have email addresses in preparation for our 45th reunion in May 2009. I know it's a long ways off, but it's suprising how fast time flies. If you want to get involved in the calling, then let me know and I'll send you some names to call.
In September Laurel Cole Karpaty and I had a spa weekend in Calistoga. Several classmates joined us for lunch on Sunday. We visited with Ron Johnson and Kathy, Connie Sanchez Green and Bill, Elaine Roccos Mott and Bill and Mike Ireland and his lovely new wife (I apologize - I don't have her name handy. Everyone had a great time. Pictures were taken that day and maybe someone will send in a copy for me to post.
I was lucky enough to travel to 2 of the cites that have been on my top ten places to visit list for a long time. I saw Quebec City, Canada and Venice, Italy. Both of them lived up to their expectations and I feel so fortunate to have been able to see them. I also had surgery earlier this week to remove some lymph glands in my neck. My recovery is going well and I should be back up to speed before Christmas.
Don't forget our website address is http://www.westmoorhighclassof64.com/ and my email is quiltcentral@yahoo.com or marian@westmoorhighclassof64.com
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
